The National Trust could lose $250 million this year after being forced to close more than 300 historic buildings during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The trust is the largest conservation charity in the UK and normally attracts millions of visitors every year to its stately homes, gardens and parks.

Despite the closures, work has continued behind the scenes with a small team of staff and volunteers helping to maintain its many beauty spots.

Workers have also been helping to continue the trust's fight against climate change by restoring peat bogs in areas such as the Peak District, which can help to absorb carbon dioxide.
