Single measures alone cannot contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus, said WHO Director General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus during Friday's news conference.
He said testing, tracing, quarantining and social distancing must be administered at the same time to be effective.

The Director General also warned countries that don't have confirmed cases yet should be vigilant in their protective measures, as the outbreak can happen anywhere.

He also pointed out that the experiences from China, South Korea, Singapore and many others have shown that aggressive testing and countertracing combined with social distancing measures can prevent infections and save lives.
