France's Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire says the COVID-19 outbreak will take 0.1% off the economic growth of his country.
At a press conference on Friday, Le Maire called the estimate "realistic" at this stage. He said wine and fashion industries were among the worst-hit sectors, due to harder access to the Chinese market and lack of demand. Chinese consumers represent 35% of global consumers of luxury goods.
The French Finance Minister also warned of over-dependence on suppliers from China and Asia, urging actions to address the country's "strategic vulnerability".
