In the coming two days, dozens of the world's top scientists and medical experts will gather in the World Health Organisation (WHO) headquarters in Geneva in a global effort to tackle the novel coronavirus. 

As the death toll continues to rise, the WHO wants this unparalleled gathering to establish research priorities and speed up programmes to develop an effective vaccine as quickly as possible.

CGTN's Mark Webster spoke with WHO spokesman Tarik Jasarevic on the eve of the summit.
