The Geneva-based World Health Organization warned that while the number of cases in China is stabilizing, it is still too early to say whether the virus has peaked.
CGTN correspondent Mark Webster said the WHO has sent hundreds of thousands of items, protective gear and test kits to countries all over the world.
He said that collective measures show that lessons have been learned from previous cases such as SARS.
The WHO will have a meeting looking at the collected data and a wide range of specialists are going to Geneva in the coming week.
Meanwhile many laboratories are working on a vaccine around the world, although it might take nine months to a year to produce a vaccine suitable for human use.
