CGTN's correspondent Tang Bo is in the city of Wuhan at the center of the outbreak of novel coronavirus.
Speaking on the Global Business show, he described the scene:
"The last time I was here was back in October and today I was pretty much shocked by how much the city has changed. There are barely any cars or people on the sidewalks. Most of them stay at home avoiding any kind of activities or get-togethers."
Hubei province, of which Wuhan is the capital, has seen more than 1,400 cases of the virus confirmed.
112 hospitals and 500 medical personnel have been designated to deal with the disease and 3,000 more medics have come from other provinces to support the local workers.
The Chinese prime minister Li Keqiang has visited the city to witness the response from the authorities. He also addressed construction workers building a new hospital and promised any assistance necessary to complete the work in the next few days.
