After Harry Dunn was knocked off his motorbike and killed in August, the driver, Anne Sacoolas was able to leave the country with diplomatic immunity. She has now been charged with death by dangerous driving.

Sacoolas, a US citizen, is married to an American military figure. But prosecutors have now ruled that her husband's diplomatic immunity does not extend to her.

A long-running dispute between Harry Dunn's family and the authorities was focused on whether Sacoolas should be made to return to the UK to face trial.

The row was escalated to the highest level, and discussed by UK foreign minister Dominic Raab and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on several occasions.
