Greta Thunberg, the 16-year-old climate activist from Sweden, is heading to the COP25 global summit in Spain to ensure "the voices of future generations are heard." Thunberg is traveling to Madrid by train from Lisbon after crossing the Atlantic by boat.

The 20 day trip from New York was a last minute change to her plans after the summit, orignally scheduled to take place in Chile, was  relocated because of protests.

Thunberg has traveled the world to spread her message on climate change and has taken part in events including the UN Climate Action Summit in New York and attending marches and climate events across North America.

When Spain confirmed they would host the annual climate summit Australian YouTube celebrities Riley Whitelum, and his wife Elayna Carausu, came to Thunberg's rescue, offering her a place on board their boat.

On arrival in Lisbon, Portugal, Thunberg spoke about the message behind her choice of travel saying "We are not doing this trip and I am not travelling like this because I want everyone to do so, I am doing this to sort of send the message that it is impossible to live sustainable today and that needs to change, it needs to become much easier."
