Hydrogen Boat, Carbon Storage and The Future of Wind?: RAZOR Climate Special

The 25th UN climate change conference begins this week in Madrid. It's known as COP25 or the Conference of the Parties. The agreement, signed in 2015, set out a plan to limit global warming to well below 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels and pursue efforts to limit it to 1.5 degrees.

RAZOR has already looked at several CO2 stories, learning that a great project is never one person's idea – it's always a collaboration – based on the enthusiasm, energy and hope of a community.

In this episode we revisit some of these projects; Emma Keeling meets the Captain of a vessel on a six-year mission around the world using solar power, wind, batteries and hydrogen, in an effort to prove there is a greener way to travel. In Iceland, scientists are developing a carbon capture technology that could allow greenhouse gases to be removed from the atmosphere and fixed into rock on the sea bed. Guy Henderson explores the future of wind power - Vortex Bladeless is developing ground-breaking technology that uses a vibration resonant cylinder which oscillates in the wind, generating power through the use of a dynamo.
