A portrait of Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart as a young boy is expected to raise around $1 million when it goes on sale at the end of the month.
The painting, attributed to Italian artist Giambettino Cignaroli is to be auctioned by Christie's.
Painted in 1770 during a tour of Italy when the composer was 13, it shows Mozart wearing a wig and sitting in front of a harpsichord.
It was commissioned by Venetian tax collector Pietro Lugiati and is one of the few surviving contemporary likenesses of the musician.
The painting was part of a collection belonging to French pianist Alfred Cortot and will go on sale on 27 November in Paris with an estimate of between $880,000 and $1.3 million.
