Environmentalist group, Extinction Rebellion, alarmingly 'sunk' a replica house in the river Thames, Sunday. They floated the sinking house by London's iconic Tower Bridge.

The action was an "attempt to send an SOS to the government on climate inaction," the protest group wrote in a statement.

The activists highlighted scientific predictions which noted that by 2100 sea levels could rise between 1 and 5 meters, which would submerge much of Britain's low-lying regions.

The group's actions come as flooding blights the north of England. The UK's Environment Agency has issued 30 flood warnings as well as five severe warnings on the River Don in South Yorkshire.

Some 400 homes have been flooded and 1,200 properties were evacuated.

More rain is expected over the coming days.
