The Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus launched its much anticipated 7T Series in London. Tech-savvy consumers have been waiting for the new product since the company announced the upgrade and, while there aren't as many changes to the new series as there were for its predecessor, there are plenty of highlights.

Top 5 features of the OnePlus 7T Pro:

1. It is faster and smoother thanks to a 90HZ fluid display, which refreshes 90 times per second, 50 percent more than most phones.
2. It has a triple camera array that comes with an ultra-wide angle and a new macro shooting mode, which allows a focus distance of 2.5 centimeters.
3. The "Warp" chargers can charge the phone's battery to 70 percent in half an hour.
4. A new "zen mode" locks you out of your phone for 20, 30, 40 or 60 minutes.
5. There is a special edition in partnership with sports car maker McLaren.

OnePlus launched its first series in 2014. According to Counterpoint's Global Premium Smartphone Shipment Market Share report, the brand ranked fourth together with Google, behind only Apple, Samsung and Huawei in the first quarter of 2019.

OnePlus's popularity is partly down to price – which is extremely competitive for a model with its specifications. The OnePlus 7T comes out on 17 October priced at £549 ($697) and the 7T Pro is released on the same day for £699. The McLaren edition will launch on 5 November and will cost £799.

This is the first time the sports car maker has collaborated with a smartphone company. CGTN spoke exclusively to Mike Flewitt, CEO of McLaren Automotive. Here is the interview:
