- Denmark beat Czechia 2-1 in Baku, Azerbaijan while England beat Ukraine 4-0 in Rome.

- "I still think about Christian every single day and that he should have been here," Denmark's coach Kasper Hjulmand said after their win, talking about Christian Ericksen who suffered a heart attack in Denmark's June 12 game against Finland.

- At least 20m Brits tuned in to watch England put four goals past Ukraine on Saturday night. UK fans were banned from travelling to Italy, with a small allocation of tickets going to those already living in Italy. The result was the most popular live television event of the year across the UK.

RESULTS

Czechia 1-2 Denmark

Euro 2020 has been a rollercoaster of emotions for Danish football fans, from Christian Ericksen's collapse 3 weeks ago to the win on Saturday which propelled the side to its fourth European Championships semi-finals.

Denmark controlled the first half, with Thomas Delaney and Kasper Dolberg scoring before the break.

Despite a fightback from Czechia, and another successful strike from Patrik Schick (who drew level with Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo as joint top scorer), it was the Danes who held on for the win.

Denmark's goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel said it was "hard to put into words," after the game. "We can fight and fight, and we did. It was a great relief when the final whistle came," he said.

Schmeichel's father Peter was Denmark's keeper and captain back in 1992, the last time Denmark made it this far in the European Championships. Ominously for the other sides still in the Euros, Denmark went on to win the cup that year.

England 4-0 Ukraine

Two goals from star striker Harry Kane, and headed efforts from both Harry Maguire and Jordan Henderson sealed a convincing win for England against Ukraine.

Ukraine have impressed throughout Euro 2020, and coach Andriy Shevchenko was upbeat despite the defeat and scoreline.

"We did not deny our principles, we had good parts of the game, but there are sometimes - set pieces, for example - today we didn't work very well at them," he said after the game.

England's Harry Kane said it was a "perfect night."

"There was a lot of pressure on us as we were favourites to win this game. To perform like we did tonight, a clean sheet, four goals, it was the perfect night," he told a post-match interview after the team extended their record of not conceding a goal so far in the competition.
